Waterbom Bali Kuta

About Waterbom Bali Kuta

Written by the Bali Saku Raba local team · Last verified September 2026

Waterbom Bali Kuta is a botanical waterpark on Jl. Kartika Plaza in Kuta, Badung, that has operated on the same site since 1993. The park combines more than 5.1 hectares of tropical gardens with waterslides, pools, a lazy river, and guest facilities, and it is an official co-branding partner of Wonderful Indonesia, the Indonesian Ministry of Tourism's national tourism brand.

This page is about the Waterbom Bali Kuta park itself. It is a managed attraction with entry procedures, safety guidance, designated facilities, and operating conditions that can change. Rides, access, tickets, capacity, weather closures, and other operational details should always be checked with the official park before a visit. The information below focuses on the verified character of the park and on practical preparation rather than making temporary commercial promises.

Park setting and experience

The park is designed around a combination of slides, water areas, lawns, and mature tropical vegetation rather than a flat expanse of concrete and rides. Botanical gardens, water systems, restaurants, and gazebos are distributed through the site, so different members of a group can choose different levels of activity: some may spend most of their time on rides, while others may prefer a shaded gazebo, a pool, or a meal between activities.

Waterbom is not a single slide or pool but a planned park with attractions spread across several zones. Visitors should use the park map and staff directions to understand where facilities are located, and allow time to move between rides, changing areas, lockers, food outlets, and rest spaces. Keep walkways clear, return tubes and equipment where instructed, and follow the signage at each attraction rather than assuming it matches another waterpark.

Rides and attractions

The current ride line-up spans three broad categories on the official park map: relaxed rides such as the Lazy River, Zuluu Hill, and Aquaplay; family and moderate rides such as Python, Constrictor, Tailspin, and Miniboomerang; and extreme rides such as Boomerang, Climax, Smashdown 2.0, Twin Racers, Fast n Fierce, Double Twist, Green Vipers, Pipeline, and The Drop. The FlowRider stationary surfing attraction and the Euro Bungy trampoline-catapult are offered as separate attractions alongside the slides.

The Kids Area is built for younger children and has no minimum height requirement, making it usable by families with toddlers while older children and adults use the taller slides elsewhere in the park.

Recognition and sustainability

Waterbom Bali held the title of Asia's number one waterpark in TripAdvisor's Travelers' Choice Awards for nine consecutive years before being named the world's number one waterpark in the 2025 Travelers' Choice Best of the Best awards, a category in which fewer than one percent of TripAdvisor's listed attractions are recognised. The park has also received Asia's Leading Water Park honours at the World Travel Awards in multiple years.

Alongside visitor awards, the park has pursued a documented sustainability programme: it holds EarthCheck Gold certification, has an approved near-term emissions target under the Science Based Targets initiative on the way to a stated Net Zero 2033 goal, and has received Bali's Tri Hita Karana Award at Super Platinum level for its environmental and community programmes. These are operational and environmental achievements rather than a guarantee of ride availability or visitor experience on any single day.

Safety and ride restrictions

Water safety and ride suitability are central to the visit. The official park publishes restrictions based on the requirements of individual slides, including a minimum height of around 100 centimetres for larger slides, a maximum single-rider weight of about 136 kilograms on most slides, and additional restrictions for riders above roughly 145 kilograms. These limits are not interchangeable between rides, and a visitor who is suitable for one attraction may not be suitable for another.

Review the current restriction guide before arrival and accept the decision of park staff at the entrance to each ride. Follow instructions about queueing, riding position, flotation equipment, and the number of people allowed on a ride at once. Do not climb on barriers, run on wet surfaces, or enter a pool area when a ride is operating. Children should remain within the supervision level appropriate to their age and ability, and a lifeguard's instruction takes priority over a personal assessment of whether a ride looks safe.

Facilities for a day visit

The official facilities information lists changing rooms, showers, lockers, towels, gazebos, a retail shop, food and drink venues, a spa and massage service, a first-aid clinic, and a prayer room. Availability and terms for particular facilities can change, so confirm the current arrangement when planning a group day. Lock valuables in the designated facility rather than leaving them beside a pool or on a lawn.

A gazebo or cabana can provide a base for a group, while lockers and changing areas help visitors separate wet activities from the rest of the day. Bring only necessary belongings into the park and label personal items where appropriate. If you need first aid, ask staff promptly instead of attempting to continue an activity after an injury. Guests with accessibility, medical, dietary, or family needs should contact guest relations before visiting so the current facilities can be discussed directly.

Location and getting there

Waterbom Bali Kuta is located at Jl. Kartika Plaza, Kuta, Kecamatan Kuta, Kabupaten Badung, Bali 80361. The park sits inland from Kuta's beachfront, within the busy south Bali road network and only a short drive from Ngurah Rai International Airport. Travel time can vary significantly with traffic, especially around the airport corridor, hotels, shopping areas, and evening activity.

Ask a driver to use a safe drop-off point and avoid stopping where vehicles or pedestrians are obstructed. If walking from nearby accommodation, use established pavements and crossings where available. Visitors using a motorbike or car should follow the current parking instructions and should not leave vehicles in a way that blocks local access. Keep a charged phone available for meeting arrangements, since a large park and busy streets can make a casual meeting point unclear.

When to plan the visit

The official park map lists daily hours from 09.00 to 18.00, with the park closed on Nyepi, Bali's island-wide Day of Silence. Operating hours, attraction availability, and entry conditions can be revised, so check the current official information before travelling, particularly around severe weather or maintenance periods. Pools and attractions may temporarily close in severe weather or because of mechanical or operational difficulties.

A full-day visit gives a group more flexibility than trying to use every attraction in a short window. Start by identifying the rides or areas that matter most, then add meal, changing, rest, and queue time. If travelling with children, plan breaks and agree on a meeting point in advance. Do not treat a ticket page or an online availability notice as a permanent price statement; ticket packages and terms can change without notice.

Responsible behaviour

Waterbom's garden setting depends on visitors treating water, plants, facilities, and other guests carefully. Use bins, avoid unnecessary single-use items, and do not damage vegetation or enter landscaped areas that are closed. Keep food, drinks, and personal items within the rules of the relevant area, and note that outside food and drink are generally not permitted inside the park. Follow the park's terms and conditions, including restrictions on outside activity and behaviour that may disturb other guests.

Respect staff, lifeguards, and fellow visitors in queues and shared facilities. Ask permission before photographing people, and do not record children or staff at close range without consent. If an attraction closes, wait for official instructions instead of attempting to bypass a barrier. These habits make the site safer and help preserve the garden character that has supported the park's sustainability recognition.

Related Bali planning

For another nearby coastal stop, read the Kuta Beach Bali guide. For a wider view of south Bali attractions, compare the GWK Cultural Park Bali guide. These are separate destinations, so confirm transport and entry arrangements for each one individually.

I’m happy to leave this review because I know Made personally, and I can honestly say he’s one of the best guides and kindest people you’ll meet in Bali. What makes him special isn’t just his deep knowledge of the island – though that alone is impressive. He knows all the hidden gems, the best times to visit popular spots, and always has interesting stories behind every temple and rice terrace. But more than that, he genuinely cares about the people he’s with. He doesn't treat it like a job; he treats it like he's showing his own friends around his home. I’ve seen how he goes out of his way to make sure everything runs smoothly, how he checks in on comfort and safety, and how he handles any little issue with a smile. He's reliable, patient, and incredibly warm-hearted. If you're looking for someone who will not only show you beautiful places but also make you feel welcome and looked after – Made is your guy. I truly hope this comment helps him, because he absolutely deserves more recognition. Thank you, Made, for being the amazing person and guide that you are! 🙏🇮🇩

The Best Tour Guide in Bali! We honestly couldn’t recommend Made enough! From start to finish, he was absolutely fantastic and went above and beyond to make our trip around Bali so special. Before we even arrived, Made’s communication was amazing. He helped us plan our whole trip, gave us fantastic advice and recommendations, and really took the time to understand what we wanted to see and do. He made everything so easy and stress-free for us. Throughout our trip, Made looked after us incredibly well. He picked us up, took us to all the different places we wanted to visit, and even showed us some amazing places we probably wouldn’t have found ourselves. His knowledge of Bali is incredible — he knew so much about every place we visited and was always happy to explain things and answer our questions. What really stood out to us was how kind, caring and genuine Made was. He didn’t just feel like a tour guide; we genuinely felt like we were being looked after by a friend. He always made sure we were comfortable, safe and enjoying ourselves, and nothing ever felt like too much trouble. Everyone in his team was also absolutely fantastic. They were friendly, professional and made us feel so welcome throughout our trip. Made played such a huge part in making our Bali holiday so memorable. If you’re looking for someone who is reliable, knowledgeable, kind and genuinely cares about giving you the best possible experience, we would 100% recommend him. Thank you so much, Made, for looking after us and helping us have such an amazing time in Bali. We’ll definitely be recommending you to anyone visiting Bali — and hopefully we’ll see you again one day! ❤️🇮🇩
